Equisport™ Equine Support
Bandage was developed as an equine athletic support
bandage for limb soft tissue and bone injuries that need
more support than is provided by a regular elastic
bandage. The Equisport bandage contains approximately
4.5 times the elastic material of Vetrap™ Bandaging
Tape. This allows for increased durability as well as a
capacity to provide higher compression and support when
application technique is appropriate.
Equisport support bandage is intended for use as an
elastic wrap to provide support or compression, or to
secure dressings or devices. Specific recommendations
for use include the following:
- Rundown bandage: Equisport bandage provides extra
protection and/or support from severe rundown on horses,
horses, prone to injury, or horses returning from an
injury. It also helps to reduce hyperextension of the
fetlock joint and protect against fatigue.
- Figure-eight support bandage
- Figure-eight splint bandage (for a higher degree of
support)
- Full limb or distal limb padded bandage
- Post-surgical bandage
- Post-arthroscopic bandage
- Poultice bandage
- Hoof wrap (equine or bovine)
- Wound bandage
